Great experience with the Affinity Bridge team
Pros
Affinity Bridge has the best "walk the walk" of any organisation I've worked for when it comes to commitment to social justice and living the company's values. The leadership team always seemed aligned on the mission and vision of the company and made decisions that reflected those commitments. The level of expertise within the development team is very high. The developers I worked with during my time at Affinity Bridge were all experienced, confident problem solvers. A small but mighty design and strategy team brought tremendous value to clients. The clients you get to work with are almost entirely non-profits. This can be really great for feeling as if you're working with groups trying to make positive social change and seeing that impact in the community. From a work/life balance perspective, Affinity Bridge is flexible and understanding about outside of work commitments like kids or illness. They genuinely care about employee wellbeing and this is felt throughout the company culture.
Cons
The downside of working almost exclusively with non-profits is that budgets are tight and appetite for digital work can come and go. Some clients that don't seem to understand the realities of running an agency that pays fair wages and provides quality work can be challenging to please. This can sometimes trickle down to project teams, though leadership is there provide support when needed.
