      They are the definition of Nepotism

      Pros

      The company had a weekly developer lunch. Snacks and drinks are decent.

      Cons

      One of the biggest problems with this company is that if you are not related to the CEO or his family, you have zero chance to be promoted into management. All key positions are fulfilled by someone related to the CEO. This is not long lost cousins, but immediate family. This least to not being able to bring up issues to management. The CEO Also has a double standard with working from home. He expect people to be at work. However, when issues arise after hours, there is no compensation granted for working on this issues.

      Thanks for your feedback. It's unfortunate you did not have as good of an experience as the majority of our employees have. I would definitely like to address your claim of nepotism. At Acima we strive very hard to ensure each part of the company is led by the best person. Your claim of nepotism implies we do not have the best people in each leadership position. Let me give you some insight. Of the 5 people on our executive leadership team, no one is related to the CEO. Of the 12 VPs and Directors on our team 2 are related to the CEO. Of our 8 department managers 1 is related to the CEO. So, of the 25 leadership positions within the company, 3 are related to our CEO. These three individuals are the best people for their respective responsibilities. They have worked in the trenches and fully understand our business. One of them is our top sales person. Considering we started only 4 years ago in a one-room office and now employ over 250 employees in one of the best office spaces in the valley with an outstanding culture (and have been recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in the state), I think we're doing pretty well with the leaders we have.       Pros

      The only pro about working for Acima was the relationships that you made with your customers out in the field.

      Cons

      There is absolutely no job security. They do not care or invest at all in their outside employees and the benefits are awful unless you live in Salt Lake City. They hire ASM's to go out in the field and enroll customer after customer. After a month or two, you realize that the goals they assign are unattainable and you realize that you have been set up for failure. After they let you go, the inside team handles all the accounts that you have enrolled across your state. It is a never-ending cycle. Most everyone that I started off working with was let go during my time with the company. They try to bring on sales professionals by offering them a nice salary. Do not take the bait unless you are looking for shot-term employment. The turnover rate has to be close to 100%.

      I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience with Acima. Our Area Sales Managers (ASMs) are very important to us and, contrary to what you posted, we do a good job of providing clear attainable performance requirements and supporting the ASMs in achieving those requirements. We have put a great deal of effort into defining the production volume of an ASM, and we've set those findings as our monthly performance requirements. We have found that if an ASM puts in the effort these requirements are easily attained. In fact, in August 2017, 89% of ASM's hit their production requirements. The average ASM also hit 133% of their requirements. We definitely expect a lot of all our employees, but we don't set anything outside their reach. Those who are successful have a great experience, make good money, and do a lot to contribute to our success.

      1. You have the ability to make your own schedule. 2. You most likely won't live in close proximity to your boss so you'll be able to become an alcoholic due to the uncertainly of your employment with this company.

      Cons

      1. You get a cell phone and car allowance, yay! Well, don't get excited because the small stipend will not make up for the wear and tear on your car due to the large territories. Once you're either fired or quit your personal cell phone will get calls all the time from customers asking for help... that's super fun! 2. THE HEALTH BENEFITS ARE TERRIBLE if you do not live in the state of Utah. It took me forever to find a doctor. There are high co pays, high deductibles and only one plan to choose from if you do not reside in UTAH. 3.The salary is bogus. In many cases, not all, they offer you a draw off of your future commissions. When you're fired or quit you won't have to pay the company back the draw which is cool - although you won't stay long enough with the company to do so anyway. THE AVERAGE TENURE OF A SALES REP IS LESS THAN A YEAR. 4. Your boss will be overwhelmed with their own goals and won't have time to help you. They have the exact same sales goals plus goals for all the sales reps below them. 5. This is not a career. Do not fall victim to the people in the company that tell you it's awesome. It's a trap. You're a number. They hire you to get a bunch of clients, set unrealistic goals for you to meet, and then you either quit or are fired and they keep your clients you worked so hard for. I've seen amazing sales reps fail at this company because of their unrealistic goals. Be careful. If I would have known then what I know about this company now I would NEVER EVER, EVERRRRRRRRRRRR taken a job with Acima.
