If you are not a manager's friend don't think to get a better position. Really weird management. Some managers act like dictators. Maybe they are in place for too long.

In house training on new "applications, etc.."

Cons

Poor leadership. Favouritism continuously displayed. Not flexible. Often not paid for overtime,, expected to get unreasonable amt of work completed in short time. Salary is low. Unreasonable demands/requests by management.
