I had an absolutely awful experience at Andros. The environment was toxic and deeply negative, and I dreaded coming to work every day. This was one of my first jobs after university, and it took me a while to realise that the way I was treated was not normal in the industry.
I was constantly afraid of making even the smallest mistakes and was made to feel useless at my job, even though I am now thriving in my current roles. While a few colleagues were great, the MD and directors were not. They made the office unbearable. Fridays, when many of them were off, created a completely different atmosphere. It finally felt like you could breathe, which says everything.
Their archaic rules didn’t help: no remote work, no sick pay in the first year, and a rigid business dress code. There was also a strong sense of pressure around not being the first person to leave at the end of the day, driven by fear of how it would be perceived.
What really sealed my feelings about this place was how they handled my departure. When I left for a new company, both management and HR handled it poorly. I was made to feel like I owed them everything, as if the training and development I received meant I shouldn’t leave, and that my success was only because of them. That is not the case. A good employer supports development without making employees feel indebted.
Leaving was the best decision I made. The overall experience, including my departure, was unacceptable from both HR and management. I would not recommend working here.
