Horrible Culture

Pros

An organisation that set out to do great work. The pay is better than most Kenyan NGOs. If you are looking for a place where you can go retire in peace without too much stress - this is the place.

Cons

Everyone is here for the money. It is a place where old people go to retire. Incompetence and unprofessionalism is very common. People like to talk a lot and do very little. The organisation has no distinct culture. Their onboarding process is horrible. The Amref brand is either dead or dying.

Pros

The staff is amazing and really gives you a lot of opportunity to learn new skills and build your resume while making a difference.

Cons

Unfortunately, there are rarely openings to step into a paid position because they try to keep their overhead as low as possible.
