Pros

Pretty office space (with plenty of space, since only 60% is being utilized), close to the mall. Friendly staff when you can speak to them.

Cons

Employees are overworked, burning out is very easy. No set processes in place. Management only cares about billable work. Each software release has more and more bugs which need to be fixed, but staff can't spend a lot of time on fixes because they are not billable. 80% of work is not billable because of the bugs, but staff are constantly being reprimanded for not having their billable hours up to 75%! Employees have no support from management, no employee reviews, they just laid off a bunch of staff due to poor management decisions. Those of us left are scared to death each day we come in. Half the employees are already interviewing to get out, including myself.

Pros

Coworkers are nice New redone office Good coffee Free parking Wish I had more to write but there isn’t much else

Cons

Where do I start? When you join the team at ACGI everything looks great. The staff looks happy, the owners seem nice and supportive and the technology looks advanced. Then you work there for a few weeks and realize ITS ALL A FACADE. Even as a positive person it’s hard to stay happy here. All they care about is billable billable billable. It doesn’t matter how much value you bring in other ways , if you are not billable enough, you are done. Some teams are only allowed 5 hours a week of non billable time (mind you it can take almost all of that time just to INPUT the time with the backdated system we have) The two owners are two stuck in the 80s to realize that their business model cannot last like this. And while they think we should be GRATEFUL for having a job with them, they don’t make it worth anyone’s while. They encourage backstabbing and manipulative behavior and some of the management team does as well. What makes it okay for a senior level manager to encourage his team members to snitch on each other?? The technology is still stuck in the 90s at best. Up until a few months ago when a millennial (Who since left) joined the company and got them to switch to slack they have been using AIM to communicate in house. BSOD are common and their product still has miles to go before it reaches this century.

Pros

Great coworkers Office is convenient for the mall Can work from home

Cons

ACGI bills customers by the hour for custom work, so all they want is billable hours to charge to clients. The product comes second, employees third. Most work 10 hours a day make the 8 billable hours. The founders act like the company is still 10 people and spend time doing engineer work when they should be running the company. The company has grown in size and the old business model hasn't scaled well. Management's solution is to make employees more "productive" by working more billable hours. As far as management are concerned all problems are caused by employees who aren't working hard enough. The only reward, if you work hard or not, is a salary. Benefits are terrible, salaries should be increased by 10 thousand to make up for extra health insurance costs. No bonuses or pay raises. The PTO allowance is pitiful for a technology company. Morale is low after 10% of the work force were fired or quit in December 2017. Most engineering practices are from the 1990s and so is the technology. No new technology, no new ideas. Decision makers are set in the 90s and can't see past them. Knowledge is hoarded by long term employees to protect their jobs, don't expect collaboration. Coworkers are nice but so overworked it doesn't matter.
