FRAUDSTERS - RUN LIKE THE WIND
Pros
There are no pro's because they're defrauding people
Cons
This company contacted me, as it's covid I wasn't surprised to do an online interview although I thought the medium used was questionable. Told them I was in Canada, they said they would look after getting my tax number and green card. After a painfully long back and forth, they then said you're hired, we are sending you a cheque via courier or mail, deposit it and get the software you will need. Then they asked if I could do mobile deposits then wanted to know how much I could deposit. I didn't respond to that question. They sent me a cheque via email and pressured me to deposit it, giving me a very specific list of software I needed to get and said they would send me the vendor(s) I had to get the software from. The list of software had nothing to do with an admin position (My Sql for example). As a former banker, I knew right away the cheque was no good; it said it was for one bank (Scotia) and had the branch encoding for one in Montreal, but it had the routing code for Royal Bank. When I advised them it would not go through I was told to just put it through anyway, they would clear the funds... HUH? That was my area in banking, I know you're scamming me! I submitted a report on them (to law enforcment).
