Moving telecommunications from point to point is the point of PointOne. One of the pioneers of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), the company has been offering phone service over its nationwide IP network since 1998. It originated as a provider of carrier services, including origination, termination, and transport, to long-distance operators; increasingly, however, its business comes from small and midsized companies wanting converged voice and data services. PointOne has also developed a pre-packaged VoIP offering for cable companies.
