The increasing popularity of HDTV equipment and DVD players is helping drive demand for Chrontel's encoders and transmitters. Customers have included Acer, ASUSTek Computer, Compal Electronics, Dell, Fujitsu, Hewlett-Packard, MiTAC Technology, NEC, Panasonic, Flextronics, Sony, Toshiba, and Wistron. Chrontel was established in 1986. The company has offices in China, Japan, Taiwan, and the US. WBL Corporation Limited owns a small stake in the company.
