Code Ninjas Burnaby South is looking for energetic, responsible, and engaging Summer Camp Instructors to lead exciting STEM and technology camps for children ages 5–14.
Our camps combine coding, game development, digital creativity, and hands-on technology projects in a fun and structured environment. Camp instructors play a key role in creating an engaging experience where students can learn, build, create, and have fun.
This is an excellent opportunity for university students, aspiring educators, future teachers, computer science students, and individuals who enjoy working with children.
Strong performers will be offered an opportunity to continue as a part-time Coding Instructor after the summer.
Summer Camp Programs
Camp instructors may be assigned to one or more of the following camps:
- 3D Modeling Basics & Mobile App Design + Coding
- Roblox World Building & HTML + CSS Web Development
- Retro Arcade Coding & Cybersecurity Coding
- Minecraft Modding & Roblox Coding Basics
- 3D Modeling Advanced & Stop Motion Animation
- Minecraft Animation & Esports Strategy + Game Coding
- Minecraft Advanced Modding & Minecraft Redstone Engineering
- Roblox Advanced Coding & Digital Art Game Design
- AI Coding & Machine Learning & Minecraft Robotics Coding
Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of campers throughout the day
- Lead and support technology, coding, and STEM-based activities
- Keep students engaged, focused, and having fun
- Assist students with projects, challenges, and problem-solving
- Facilitate group activities, team challenges, and camp games
- Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment
- Assist with daily setup, cleanup, and classroom organization
- Manage and transport camp equipment, laptops, and materials as needed
- Follow provided curriculum and camp schedules
- Communicate professionally with fellow instructors and management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children through camps, tutoring, coaching, teaching, childcare, or similar roles
- Interest in coding, technology, gaming, STEM, or education
- Familiarity with platforms such as Minecraft, Roblox, Scratch, or similar technologies is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead groups of children with confidence and enthusiasm
- Patient, creative, dependable, and energetic
- University students, college students, education students, computer science students, or recent high school graduates are encouraged to apply
Requirements
- Comfortable working with children ages 5–14
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with video games and technology
- Available weekdays during June 29th to Sept 4th 2026
- Available to work approximately Monday to Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
Pay: $19.25-$21.00 per hour
