      Product Owner Interview

      Feb 24, 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Enfield, CT
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at the LEGO Group (Enfield, CT) in Jul 2015

      Interview

3 months long and roughly 4 rounds of interviews, with some considerable waiting between each. First round, screening call with HR Rep. Second round, call with Manager. Third round, call with Manager colleague. Fourth round, onsite (3 stages) Each phone interview was positive and informative, with good questions and discussion. Invited in for final onsite interview, asked to do a presentation - involving 2 scenarios. Also asked to fill out a lengthy and detailed personality questionnaire beforehand. On site interview in several stages: 1 - HR chat and request to build a model. Quick tour of office. 2 - Manager and HR meeting, to review Personality assessment 3 - Panel Presentation I found the Personality assessment to be poorly executed - each question (of which there were about 80 to 100) requires a force ranking of 5-10 traits or skills, eg - Do you prefer to be on time, Well organized, and other options. Stage 2 of the onsite is then an evaluation of those answers, resulting in questions like - "You say you don't like to be on time?". If you require force ranking, something has to go at the bottom. The Panel presentation / group interview was fairly one-sided. After presenting for 20min, there's then questions from the panel for most of the remainder, with little opportunity for questions or discussion at the end. The timing was poorly handled, with the manager having to stop it short, with no real conclusion. There was no hiring response within the provided timeline, so I followed up with HR. Hear back from them a few days later, with a rejection, and with trivial feedback, leaving a poor impression after the months long process, and investment of time and effort from a candidate.

      Interview

The process was very comprehensive but constructive the whole way through with multiple interview stages and tasks. And despite delays due to holidays and internal deadlines communication was good throughout.

      Product Owner Interview

      Aug 1, 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at the LEGO Group in Jul 2022

      Interview

Recruiter reached out to me for an interview. They didn't seem know my current company (though it's big, and partnering with Lego), they didn't seem to understand my current work or most of what I said during the interview, even. It was an odd experience. They said I would hear back the following week. After two weeks I reached out to no response, the following week I got an auto-reply that I did not go to the next round. Interview difficulty set to "Average" because it was so hard to communicate with the recruiter about my current job. Never experienced that before. Overall a negative experience, I don't think I will apply here again.
