      Marketing Manager Interview

      Jan 7, 2025
      Anonymous employee
      Billund
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at the LEGO Group (Billund) in Dec 2024

      Interview

I have applied for over 30 jobs at the LEGO Group (Billund) in 2024. It's easy to feel intimidated in this process but remember many others that work at the LEGO Group today went through a similar process than you. This last role took exactly 1 month (not always the case). I applied on 10/11 and had my 3rd and final interview on 10/12, which they called me the following morning with the verbal offer. Just as everyone else says, your 1st is a 30min (maybe 45min) with the talent acquisition manager, then the 2nd will be with the hiring manager and any major stakeholder relevant to your role and the final you will present your case study to perhaps the same group plus a senior talent person. Tips: customize every CV, embody the LEGO Group values (show that you are a fit), highlight your international and multicultural background, bring questions for every interview, ask for feedback, and really wow with your case study (do something unexpected or original and show them your thought process). Besides all this, there is no exact approach and it will be different for you and the role you will be applying for. Good luck!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Why LEGO? Why this role? What's an area of development for you and what are you doing about it? How do you deal with a difficult stakeholder?

      Interview

The process was outlined clearly from the start and in their standard interview support materials also made this clear and painted a very positive outlook of the company and working culture, which made going through the process exciting and served as good motivation. That energy (bubbly, creative) wasn't felt so much during my interview but that didn't massively bother me. What was sad was that I had to chase for an outcome after 2 weeks of not hearing anything, however when chased I did recieve a call with feedback and an apology so that helped.

      Interview

I had three interviews in total, firstly with HR for 30mins with a more general format, secondly with two managers for 60mins on specific career experience, and finally a team lead 30mins. I felt that all of the sessions were enjoyable and engaging.

      Interview

A disrespectful big waste of time. Went through 3 interviews for the role which included presenting a case and everything seemed to be going well. The recruiter then called to say they went with another candidate, which is fair and despite the rejection the process and people had been nice to me. Until the recruiter said that even though it didn't work out for this role both her and the hiring managers thought I'd be perfect for another similar role that would be published soon. They connected me with the recruiter of the new role, and after I sent my application, a few days go by and I'm rejected even before a screening interview. One week goes by and to my surprise they changed their minds and invited me to a first interview - strange but great, right? Not really, because days before the interview they cancelled it anyway due to internal changes which means the role no longer will be filled.
