two months after submiting my application a girl from hr contacted me.
she asked me to do an online test in codility.com
this is a site which "test" you as a developer. the exercises must be done in 30/40 minutes and are puzzle-like programs in which you have to solve a problem but with time/space restrictions. in this site there is a training section in which you can make some examples. the exercises posted are quite complicated since most of them is sorting/reordering/searching combinations with arrays/matrixes but adding time/space restrictions.
after doing the test the girl contacted me to told me they weren't convinced with my results so i was out of the process. i asked her about the test results and she told me something that i had failed the third problem so i guess it didnt pass all the codility.com tests cos the three i run were right.
im sure rebuy is a good company but from my point of view they dont put much effort on seeing if you can fit or not into the role (they could implement their own exercises with things related to the position or making you implement something so that they see how you code).
from the job description i saw they have a jave enterprise web app and look for people to extend it, create rest apis, work with spring/hibernate and so on. the java exercises of the test were about navigating through self implemented binary trees and checking pair of elements in an array.
i still wonder how many times rebuy developers do such things on their daily work.
