I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at onsemi (Portland, OR) in Oct 2014
Interview
The hiring process is very slow and it could take up to 2 months after phone interview to set up on-site interview for you. The interviews are 30 min to 1hr long starting 8 am, usually ending 3ish. No challenging questions just normal stuff about your resume and work experience. You might be asked a few very general questions about device physics, semiconductor manufacturing processes and statistics but very simple and elementary stuff like what is capacitor, transistor and how they can be fabricated? What is Cpk? What are general process flows for microchip manufacturing?
Interview questions [1]
Question 1

What is Cp and Cpk?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at onsemi in Mar 2015
Interview
HR from the university relation department emails me to schedule a first round phone interview. Just basic information was asked, basic questions, took 10-15 minutes. Following day got email from the group manager who is in charge of the group where the intern will work for. Scheduled a phone interview next week, it was quite a pleasant talk about 30 minutes and the manager expressed the willingness to offer the position via the phone. Just some research experience were discussed. Several days later got phone call from the same HR and offered the position.
