      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at komoot in Jan 2024

      Interview

Applied on their website with CV, motivational letter and trivial tech question. After that you are given a full day technical challenge that you need to finish within a week. Technical challenge was to implement an app that tracks your location in the background and pulls photos from FlickrAPI. As I can see from other reviews, it's not only me who got the same problems with them, so be careful - don't waste your time with this company Challenge itself is okay, but apparently they are more interested in the quality of Flickr API than your coding skills. I was rejected from proceeding because "We were getting a lot of the same photos", while feedback about my code was positive. Also HR clearly used wrong template to inform me about all of this - the email was saying that they enjoyed "meeting face to face" and "thoroughly talking", even though it didn't even get to it. Overall negative experience

      Interview

It certainly wasn't a process that measured abilities. They sent the project directly without any discussion and the challenge they gave was not very detailed. They were looking at the behavior of your project instead of evaluating your coding skills. They can ignore your thousands of lines of code because of one line, and that's because of the detail they didn't provide. Any problem can be solved in more than one way and it doesn't make sense for them even you choose a creative path. You have to find the path in their mind. I did not pass to the next step, although it did not contradict any of the things in the assignment they gave. We're not playing a guess game here. In short, it's a waste of time, don't try to complete the assignment they give you.
