I applied for a position at iBUYPOWER with their listed yearly salary. After my interview, HR and the hiring managers expressed strong interest and verbally confirmed that the compensation would be within that range. We agreed on a start date, and everything seemed set. However, when I received my official offer letter, the compensation had changed to a lower hourly position—a significant downgrade. When I reached out for clarification, HR responded that after reviewing my background post-interview, they felt I was better suited for a lower-level role, despite never mentioning this concern during the hiring process. I asked why they hadn’t informed me before sending the offer letter and also attempted to negotiate. Then, on the final day listed in the offer letter as the deadline, I attempted to sign it—only to find out it had already expired early. When I followed up, they claimed they had already extended the offer to another candidate because I didn’t sign in time, contradicting the expiration terms in their own letter. To make things worse, they immediately deleted and reposted the job listing, making me question if they were ever serious about hiring me in the first place. This experience was frustrating and unprofessional. If you’re applying here, be prepared for misleading job postings, last-minute changes to compensation, and poor communication from HR.
