This is a good chance to add in that you were under a time crunch. For me, I told the interviewer about the time when there was 5 minutes left in my science exam and I realized I used the wrong formula for a problem worth the most marks. My teacher tends to care most about the final answer so I wrote down the solution first, then began to show all of my work so if I ran out of time, the right answer was still there
One incident was not following protocol when dealing with a child who had Oppositional Defiant Disorder in my last placement. Instead of giving him 20 minutes “Time-Out”, I only let him cool down 5 minutes before approaching him. This could have been disastrous with another child and youth worker. Because of my calming and light-hearted personality I was able to calm him down and have him apologizing to the Principal within 15 minutes. Again, this could have gone seriously wrong. I did wrong by not giving him the allotted time. My "steps" to fixing this situation was in “ learning a valuable lesson” on "team dynamics and rules" set out for such a situation so as future situations did not turn into a nightmare. Taking the step to "owe up" to my lack of co-operation in following the team’s rules. Realizing there could have been "major consequences" to playing on my own field. "Taking responsibility" and being "apologetic". Sitting with the team and "learning the full procedure" involved when dealing with such a child. Taking "mental note" to "follow authority figures (those more knowledgeable)" who have gone through similar situations with youth many times before me.
This is a trick question. If you begin to spill to the interviewer about how you always get paired up with the laziest people and you always end up doing all the work then they are going to be under the impression that you are difficult to work with because its always 'everyone else's fault'
Indigo has high standards and a high quality of service for thier customers. In answering this question: I seek a high quality of productivity in the job I do; whether it would be in the workforce, or at school doing projects and assignments. I am a person that professors will see doing 10x more than what is expected. When working with a team, I like to match my performance with what is demanded of me with the company I work for. When a team player is not matching this level of performance - I like to do 1 of 3 things. Speak to the team as a whole and evaluate how the team is going to match their performance to the high standards they set out for themselves. 2. Sit with the individual who is not pulling their weight or has attitude issues. 3. Find a solution by either sharing/delagating responsibility or when time is pressed take on the responsibility myself.
Do not say something like "i plan to be working here" or "ill be working at another job" I told them that I am still a high school student, so I will be going to __ grade.
Because Indigo is a company that plays an important role in their surrounding community. You can not go wrong by answering: I am a person who will continously be learning and improving myself. It is my mission to give back to my community. One way I plan on doing this is opening myself further to volunteering with youth missions or helping out the local hospital or food drive. ((Therefore, you are not saying that in 6 months your going to be left the company. They will not feel like they are going to be spending precious time only for you to leave them in 6 months time. I do not see an objection to saying: While volunteering my services, I hope to be increasing my skillset with your company.))
(situational) Theres a husband asking for help in buying a gift for his wife who travels often for work, she enjoys art, design and photography. Pick only 1 item from the store and "story-tell" why you picked it.
I picked a fluffy, white blanket from the home or "for her" section because as someone who travels often, the thing I miss most is the comfort of home and most importantly my bed. I explained the wife will come home and relax/sleep like a baby with her new blanket, and her and the husband can cuddle (lol), its simple and stylish and something she can appreciate. -another girl had a great idea, she found a map to keep track of places you've traveled or want to go to by pinning it. (relative to how the wife travels a lot)
