Saw the position online, applied, was contacted soon after by the HR recruiting partner.
We had a great conversation - discussed the role, my work experience and how it would serve the organization and their service needs, shared solid examples - discussed those in detail - sent over a portfolio supporting this conversation. Okay, great.
Then was scheduled with a convo with the hiring manager. Okay, great.
Hiring manager comes on - have some back and forth - when asked to introduce myself and why this company - shared my story, my experience, my advocacy for supporting these types of positions.
This hiring manager was clearly not interested in discussing doing real work - proceeds to ask me 3 questions in a row which was reflective of "I didn't listen to a thing you just said about your introduction or really didn't read your resume."
Okay, great.
This person clearly wasn't interested in discussing anything except talking about how "free" the remote work set-up is for him. Also, when he shared his story, there wasn't anything about exuding leadership qualities or building goals to be a type of leader - he just rather used his non-related doctoral degree and somehow managed to fail-up into this role.
Ended this conversation with "it's not going anywhere" and soon after, to no surprise, received the "pass email."
My kudos at least to the HR representative for putting effort and doing actual work.
