TLDR: waste of time, HR "professional" was beyond disrespectful
A guy in HR reached out to me on LinkedIn about a role that hadn't been posted yet saying he thought I'd be a good fit. We scheduled time but he never bothered sending over the job description so that I could prepare.
When we connected he spent more time asking me about why I responded to his LinkedIn message (because, as he told me a few times, it was his first time doing outreach) than talking about the company or the role. He expected me to reach his mind and tell me why I was right for the job without telling me the what the job entailed, as well as tell him why I wanted to work for the company when he reached out to me.
At the end I said I was interested in the role based on the little information he provided and he said "oh yeah we should probably let some other people interview first" then asked for my resume. Excuse me? He reached out to me and it was bizarre this guy thought that conversation we had counted as an interview. How can someone interview for a job without knowing what the job is?
He then kept messaging me saying he would update me soon and only after 4 weeks of his bs and lies did he finally say they hired someone else. Overall a horrible process and this guy was so unqualified it really speaks a lot about the company.
It honestly seemed like I was more of a practice interview rather than a candidate he was actually interested in. I've never felt so disrespected by an interviewer before, and that's saying a lot.
