I applied online. I interviewed at Women Donors Network in Jun 2024
Interview
I spoke first with their HR team member, then had another interview, and was invited to the semi-finalist round where I had to complete a practice work assessment that would take up to 8 hours of my time before I completed a panel semi-finalist interview. I was compensated for my time on the assessment.

Question 1
I was asked about assumptions I made about WDN and their work in the process of completing the candidate assessment.
After a phone interview that went fairly smoothly, I was scheduled for an in-person interview with the entire staff. When the CEO e-mailed me the schedule, they not only addressed it to another applicant, they also accidentally forwarded me an e-mail chain from the other applicant, exposing their personal information and violating their privacy. I waited 24+ hours for an apology or some kind of acknowledgment of what happened, but there was none. Just radio silence. I called them the next day to take myself out of the running. After apology e-mails from the CEO and other staff trying to convince me to come in anyway, I decided to do it because they were finally taking accountability for what happened. I thought it went well and I got a little emotional because the CFO went on and on about my courage and how great my cover letter was and didn't even ask me any real questions. I notified them I was interviewing at another organization and wrote a really thoughtful thank you message. Despite this arduous, unbelievably inappropriate process, I was told I didn't get the job a few days later with a short e-mail that used an uncomfortable amount of compliments. They took me for quite a ride. Unprofessionalism all around, as evidenced by these reviews. Hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. Job seekers, be wary. The way you are treated during the interview period speaks volumes about what kind of organization you are applying to.
I applied online. I interviewed at Women Donors Network (San Francisco, CA) in May 2015
Interview
I was interviewed by two different people, separately. One interview took about an hour and the other about ten minutes. It was very casual and friendly. They seemed interested in my skills and told me that the delimiting factor for the second round of interviews was the CEO who was generally out of town, but would be available late the following week. I told them I was actively looking for a job. They told me that I should call them if I got another offer. I sent an immediate thank you email after the interview, another email about one week subsequent to that, and a third a couple of weeks later. All three emails received terse responses until the last email's response that another candidate accepted an offer the week before. There was no "Dear John" email as you might expect after you have interviewed and another candidate was selected. Misleading process and not forthcoming with information re my status as a candidate after their interest at the time of the original interview. It was an unpleasant experience.
