I know that it's an Irish store and that the first store opened in 1969 over there as Penneys. When they wanted to expand into the UK, they couldn't use the name Penneys as there was another business with the name which is where Primark came from. I know that the biggest store is also in Manchester and that there are 290 stores across Britain and other countries. Their biggest competitors are H&M, Matalan and big supermarkets such as Asda.
