Went through several rounds of interviews and was told I was a top candidate. Wrote thank you notes to the interviewers and was very excited about the opportunity. Then I never heard another word from the manager who interviewed me and gave me the distinct impression she thought I was very qualified for the job. After several emails and phone calls I gave up on hearing something. I understand if I didn't get the job, however I do expect at least an email letting me know. Especially after 2 rounds of interviews, and being told it was between me and one other candidate. Very unprofessional and leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
