I received an email saying that I had been selected to complete a video interview within a 2 day time frame. I immediately emailed back, thanked the recruiter for the opportunity, and began working on my interview. I gave myself ample time to complete the interview and was very meticulous when following directions because it was my first video interview. After over an hour of answering about 10 questions I hit submit, watched the thank you/conclusion footage from the recruiter, and was logged off immediately by the system. I then sent a follow up email to the recruiter letting her know I submitted my video interview. After no response I figured her and her team were processing interviews and to wait a couple of weeks before contacting again. When a couple of weeks passed and I did not hear anything I emailed the person who referred me to the position and she told me HR said they never received my video. I immediately contacted the recruiter who told me I hadn't been selected but failed to mention they never received my interview. Then I contacted the video interview company and they told me that the last question of my interview didn't upload fully on their end so a complete interview was never sent. I forwarded their message to the recruiter who apologized but said they were already moving forward with final round applicants.
Overall I don't think it was a fair system that Turner has in place. Technology is great but I believe if a company is going to rely on it, they should give applicants the benefit of the doubt that technology may fail. Once they received the partial interview, someone could have contacted me and informed me and I could have quickly fixed the situation. It also disappointed me that when an error was proven by the video company and at no fault of my own, my interview was not given a chance to be reviewed.
My advice to Turner: when using technology give applicants the benefit of the doubt and find a better video interview service.
