      Talent Acquisition Specialist Interview

      Oct 25, 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Visa Inc. (Austin, TX) in Sep 2018

      Interview

I received a phone call from the recruiter for a role at Visa. I didn't even apply - I was head hunted. But it doesn't hurt to look at new opportunities so I told her I would get back to her. She was very pushy and kept texting me and calling me repeatedly when I didn't answer. If she called and I didn't answer, then within 2 minutes she'd text. I was working and in meetings so of course I couldn't answer my phone. If I told her I'd get back to her by 5pm, she would start pinging me at 4pm. She emailed me some questions regarding my "interest" in the role. When I emailed my responses, she said they weren't good enough and to change them to something else - I was baffled. That should have been my red flag to bail and I wanted to but again, very pushy and persistent. I could barely talk when we were on the call. She was coaching me leading up to the interview with the hiring manager but in reality, she was trying to tell me how to respond. I didn't listen - I gave them honest answers about me and not spoon-fed responses when I finally I had a phone interview with the manager. He was pleasant enough and it went well but I knew immediately that I didn't want this job. I would told I would hear the outcome within a week. After the call ended, the recruiter texted to ask how the interview went. I never did hear the outcome (obviously I didn't get it) and not receiving a courtesy email is just bad taste - especially when I was constantly contacted at the beginning and leading up to the interview. Clearly the recruiter is from a staffing agency and just looking for a commission. Not a good way to treat candidates. I've spoken with several friends in TA and they said this group is a revolving door and the managers are nightmares to work with. Have no desire to ever interview, let alone work, here again.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Visa Inc. (London, England) in May 2024

      Interview

There was a quick response on my application but I felt that the interview questions were asked just for the sake of it. It seemed like there was a lack of genuine interest in my answers, as if they were just filling out an interview form.
