I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Virginia Tech (Blacksburg, VA) in Feb 2011
Interview
After I got accepted into the school, I was allowed to interview professors and chose the one I wanted to work with. I met with three professors and then picked the advisor I wanted to work with. It was a great experience. I was also allowed to explore the lab area and ask students about their advisers.
I interviewed for a research assistant position at Virginia Tech's Computer Science Department last month. The process included a lab tour, faculty interview with technical questions, and research presentation. The professors were welcoming, and the collaborative atmosphere impressed me. After thorough preparation and authentic responses, I received an acceptance call a week later. The experience confirmed that Virginia Tech values both technical expertise and cultural fit.

Question 1
Explain how you would approach debugging a machine learning model that's performing poorly on validation data.
It was a group Zoom interview over several hours. Not super difficult, just time consuming. Met with different positions on the team and they asked relatively the same, expected interview questions, but it was nice to get a perspective from each person.
