I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Vimbly (New York, NY) in Jan 2020
Interview
I remember that it was a pretty easy interview. It was one on one with a manager. I remember that there were no Star questions just questions about past experience and were to be. It was quite long ago at this point.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Vimbly in Feb 2022
Interview
First I had to submit a 2-minute video recording sent to the interviewer. Then there email exchange with a handful of writing prompts. The third step was a Zoom interview w/ staff member. Had there been a follow-up there would have been an interview with the CEO/CTO.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Q. How do you organize your inbox/to-do list. --- They seem to really focus on behavior-related questions.
first had a fairly straightforward and conversational Skype interview, then was invited to the office for another round of interviews. the in person interviews were 100% behavioral questions and 0% about the actual position I applied for. I understand they were trying to get a feel for my personality to see if I was a good fit, however I think they care more about your personality to see if you’re outgoing and will get along with them, as opposed to screening your qualifications and skills for the position.
I’m all for behavioral interviews except the people who interviewed me, including the CEO, seemed disinterested and couldn’t care less about what I had to say the entire time. the other person I interviewed with also seemed to have come unprepared and had trouble coming up with questions.
also to the person who mentioned how the CEO strangely asked about their email organization, DITTO to that. I read that prior to my interview and thought .. that’s weird, no way he would do that with me.. BUT I was wrong. went on for about 10 minutes asking the most bizarre questions regarding my inbox. felt like I was in the twilight zone the entire time. I understand trying to understand someone’s organizational skills but ... never felt more awkward and uncomfortable during an interview considering his strange demeanor. just a warning that if you interview with them, make sure you go over your email organization 100 times over because that seems to be the CEO’s top priority.
