Typical interview sequence. I responded to ad in Craigslist with resume. Recruiter responded quickly and proposed time slots to chat over the phone. Phone screen was typical and lasted ~30 minutes. A phone interview followed the following week with the hiring manager. A series of 1:1 interviews on site were scheduled the following week, the "loop" ala Microsoft. The 1:1 started with HR that was followed by two 1-hour tech interviews. The tech interviews were also unfortunately modeled after Microsoft's with a bunch of trivial and esoteric puzzles thrown at the interviewee. As usual the questions had nothing to do with the job opening. Furthermore someone aced these questions might not necessarily be a productive engineer. It was a complete waste of my time.
