I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors (Madison, WI) in Mar 2015
Interview
I submitted an online application, which took about 30 minutes (If you plan on tutoring the ACT or SAT or other tests, you will need your official scores). Within two days I received a phone call where I scheduled a Skype interview for two days later. Before the Skype interview they recommend that you complete a "diagnostic test" for any subjects that you wish to tutor. Following the Skype interview I had one more phone interview and was hired shortly afterward.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked to explain how I would help students with specific questions relating to the various subjects I planned on tutoring.
I answered questions about how I would respond to various teaching scenarios in real time. The interviewer was a Bot, which surprised me. The Bot gave validating feedback throughout the interview. I wasn't sure if that was a good sign or not, thinking the platform might do that in any case. But I got hired.

Interview
Didn't even complete the interview. I expected it to be a normal one-way interview, but it was a conversation with a talking AI bot. I closed out of it immediately.
Makes me wonder what else they are using AI for in replace of actual employees.
