You are sent a link to an online video interview. They ask you about previous tutoring experience and the last question was asking you to do a mock-tutoring session. It's very awkward because you have to make up what you want to teach on the spot, but you get unlimited time to think of responses.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors (Tampa, FL) in Aug 2014
Interview
They responded right away to my application, and I had a phone interview within 3 hours of contacting them. They asked me about which subjects I would be willing to tutor, and then asked a few questions to test my knowledge in some of the more advanced subjects. It went well, and I had an interview via a Skype-like program the next day. They asked me about how i would handle particular situations and explained the way everything would work. They offered me a job immediately. Be aware, this is an independent contractor position.
