Interview
I applied to Varsity Tutors and less than 30 minutes later I received email and texts prompting me to select a date and time for a phone interview. I had the interview the same day. The phone interview lasted approximately 15 minutes. She asked for my hourly pay expectations and said they would pay me more than what I asked. The interview ended with the lady saying "We will get in touch within 3 days." 2 days later at 11:32 pm I received an email stating my availability or time did not match their needs. I have graduate degrees and work in the field of education and have a good amount of years of experience. I felt like the person who interviewed me had no clue about education. I think my vocabulary and teaching strategies went over her head.

Question 1
How would you approach a tutoring session with a student who struggles in writing?
You are sent a link to an online video interview. They ask you about previous tutoring experience and the last question was asking you to do a mock-tutoring session. It's very awkward because you have to make up what you want to teach on the spot, but you get unlimited time to think of responses.

Interview
AI Interview, very easy. Asked very basic question's regarding experience, motivation, etc. I’m a freshman student in UMD and so I haven’t been to many job interviews, but this was genuinely easy.
