Valtech Manchester Hiring Process. (JAVA DEVELOPER) WARNING: PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. 1) I have been put forward for Java Developer as a contractor position. I applied and agreed the daily rate of £550 with the agency and agency has forwarded my CV on the basis of this rate. They acknowledged this rate and invited me for first round of phone interview. 30 minutes 2) After phone interview is cleared the next round to complete was an online Java based technical test. Took almost 1h - 1h:15m 3) After the technical test result was good they invited me for face to face interview for almost 1.5 hours in Manchester City Centre UK. 4) After the final face to face interview the agency communicated me that they would like to offer you but not £550/day but instead of £475/day. What???? I was just shocked and boiling that how can they reduce the daily rate by £75/day. Please note they are advertising fake daily rate to interview the best possible candidates in the market but in reality, after half a dozen interviews they will offer you something very silly. And not only that they will say they will decide your daily rate. Really???? I am providing my services to you and you are going to decide my daily rate. Really? Never seen this before. They said they have given the range for this role to the agencies was £400 to £575 and I have been put forward for £550 but after the offer they said well you know £550 is for Tech Lead position and we can’t offer you this but we will offer £475 and when you ask, did you guys not seen my rate in the first instance when my CV been sent to HR and they acknowledged yes we did see your rate. The only thing HR has done after one week is to say sorry. Really, these guys are big waste of time of everyone candidates/agencies/their own employees. Please don’t spend your energy/time/money to interview them. I have spent pretty much one full day (including traveling to their site, paying £20 for a day parking) with their interviews even when they are not clear of what they are looking for and what’s their budget is. I think they like to browse Ferrari where they only have the money for Nissan Micra. 5) The above ones are just the trailer and here is the more interesting part, is the offer email was sent at 28 Sep 2018 11:16 and offer was retracted around 28 Sep 2018 13:39, almost 2 hours and 23 minutes later. Are you guys joking with candidates in the market or you have appointed jokers to hire ‘Java developers’? Really just given the time of 2 hours to accept or reject the offer??? Please avoid this company as much as you can. Regarding online technical Test. They said its created by their own talent so I thought it must be very challenging and guess what the whole 1hour online test was based on whether a number is divisible by 3 or 6. Now you can imagine the calibre of their talent? Face to face technical test: They will give you a scenario on the board and ask you to provide the solution and guess what the whole solution was based if the number is divisible by 2 or not means finding if its odd or even number (hahaha very funny) and that’s the calibre of their Senior Java Developer. I’ll let you to decide their team’s calibre who are asking questions if the number is divisible by 2 or 3 or 6. When I asked what technologies are you using so he said I am not exactly sure because I am on another project? Sure, no worries. The company is advertising fictional daily rate which are far lower than the actual reality to interview the best possible candidates in the market but after offer they will offer far lower rates. No matter how, what's your daily rate is? If you get selected the company is going to tell you the price of your services/goods. It’s like browsing latest Mercedes benz and after selecting offer the price of Nissan Micra. When I asked, you guys wasted my one full day and should pay one day consultancy fee because it’s a blunder on your part so no answer. Only after one week received a call from the HR with sorry we apologies it was not good experience for you this time but please do apply again and we will ensure it will be smooth for you next time.
