The first interview was a brief phone screening with the recruiter, which went well. However, the second interview, an hour-long session with a manager, was quite disappointing. The manager seemed very disinterested, making the interview feel dull and lifeless. I honestly wanted to end it midway but decided to push through. This round included a mock task that felt somewhat unfair, as it required using their systems, which I had no prior knowledge of. It’s reasonable to question both the ethics and effectiveness of this approach for selecting candidates.
The next step would have been a third interview with additional team members, but I lost interest after the second one and mentally removed them from my options. I didn’t get a chance to inform them of my decision, but soon after, they sent a standard rejection template, which worked out well since I was no longer interested. Additionally, having three interviews for a simple project coordinator role paying under $50k seemed excessive. I’m sharing this to advise others of my experience. The company "culture" felt off, and it definitely wasn’t the right fit for me.
