I guess I got the first stage of the interview which was a video call with their HR. A nice woman, tech savvy, good questions. I explained my understanding of what the company was doing and what my role would be, and how I love working remotely.
But then it turned out there was an issue with me being a Russian. She said: "It may be a security issue, but I'll talk to the team, I'm sure it'll be fine". After a few days I was rejected. Didn't even get a tech interview. Why reach out in the first place if you don't hire Russians? That was humiliating.
Thanks for your feedback: this will help us improve.
It is a shame you had an unpleasant experience. Please kindly note that we hire from all nationalities. Few roles require high clearance and they may only be physically located in certain geographies though.
Positive experience
Easy interview
Application
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Upsun (Madrid) in Aug 2019
Interview
I received an email asking me to choose an appointment time and hour, using some calendar application. Time slots were for a 30" interview. We had the meeting using a videoconference application that worked great (zoom, I think).
