      Scare Actor Interview

      Aug 3, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Universal City, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Universal Studios (Universal City, CA) in Oct 2013

      Interview

Apply online, pick a date to audition, show up, do light paperwork, get called into room to quickly audition (this weeds out bad actors), do a more intensive audition (act like I'm being attacked, act like the attacker, scream, etc.). After they let you know you've been hired, the training day consists of presentations about Universal's culture, what is expected, how the event works. All of HR issues are covered well. You sit at a computer to complete your hire-on process, get your picture taken and are told when to come in for a costume fitting.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

There weren't any direct questions - we were all being reviewed by a panel based on the audition.

      Scare Actor Interview

      Aug 12, 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Studio City, CA
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Universal Studios (Studio City, CA) in Jul 2015

      Interview

They audition you in a large room. It's fun. But they string veterans along and poorly use our time. Some of us they'll hold onto just in case they're not able to find a satisfactory replacement. Once they find said replacement, they drop us. If you're not going to cast scare actors from the get go, don't waste their time and encourage them to audition again. Let them know at the end of the season.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The audition is fairly straightforward. You pretend to die.
