I applied online. I interviewed at Ultimaker (Geldermalsen) in Nov 2024
Interview
This company has no direction of what they want in an candidate. The process is all over the place and they want free advice from potential candidates and then they actually don’t have a valid position. Don’t do any case studies or strategy presentations for this company, it’s free work that they want to use. The technology can’t compete with Chinese competitors so they are in a pickle which makes it easy to negotiate a higher salary but make sure that they actually have a position and not wasting your time. Also very old way of conducting business, they advertise remote and then at the end of the process, inform the candidate to be in a warehouse setting(not the cool New York loft kind) in a middle of the fields for two days a week. This is not 1970s people! Professionals don’t want to be commuting two hours to sit in a field within a warehouse, how is that even productive. Very inexperienced managers and upper management. All in all, even their designers claim on Glassdoor that their technology is obsolete which can be a plus if you want to try and make their company relevant again and negotiate a high salary. All in all, the company is stuck in the past and doesn’t have place in our new way of working. I concretely decided no money is worth working for this organization as I don’t want to represent or be linked to it in any way.

Question 1
Mostly case-related questions about recruitment, how to handle difficult hiring managers
First HR interview, then whole interview day, with a task to complete and create a short presentation about your decisions. Short discussions with other team members, in a non-formal interview setting. The task was to improve a print process that was deliberately messed up.
