I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at UC Irvine (Irvine, CA) in Mar 2014
Interview
Once you are asked for an intake you will take a few tests on the computer to test typing speed, excel, and word proficiencies. Then you will review your experiences and what you are looking for on campus. There are different levels of employment and the pay scale reflects this.
I applied through university. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at UC Irvine (Irvine, CA) in Sep 2018
Interview
Nice staff. Very casual interview but sometimes they usually accept work study students who apply.
Most of assistants they are currently enrolling at school. So maybe your coworkers can be your peer student all the time.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at UC Irvine (Irvine, CA) in Mar 2013
Interview
Relatively painless and short, just some personal questions and some detail about past work experience. In the end you just walk on site for the interview and then afterwords if they liked you or thought you'd be reliable they let you know that you had an offer. I'm not quite sure how it works if you got rejected though.
