      Summer Risk Analyst Interview

      Mar 28, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      London, England
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at UBS (London, England)

      Interview

Online application form: Very standard although make sure you research the company thoroughly and show this in your answers to the competency questions. Online numerical and logic tests again very standard SHL, nothing too difficult about these if your practise properly. Phone interview: I personally feel like I performed badly during my phone interview but I managed to pass. Make sure you have examples of all of the seven competencies listed on the website and know a couple of news stories (or know a bit about regulation if you're applying for risk, products for trading etc.) Assessment day: Numerical test is again standard, mine was only 20 questions/20 minutes. Individual presentation you need to make sure you stay to time and answer the questions, my presentation was a little bit short and missed a couple of key points but your answers to the questioning at the end appear to be what really matters. Group presentation doesn't really require much preparation, the ten minutes they give you is more than enough, it really is just a conversation just make sure you are heard and maybe offer to keep time; I felt personally like this was a great opportunity to prove your innovation, don't be afraid to offer different ideas even if they seem far-fetched. Interviews are really laid back and more of a casual conversation, again if you've done your research I feel like this is the most enjoyable part of the process.
