I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at True Fit Corporation (Mumbai) in May 2019
Interview
First round was technical skype interview . All questions related to spark , Mapreduce , Hadoop , Database were asked. Given 3 code question to code on shared platform including spark DF program and queries . It was 1 hr process. Went great.
Second round was personal one-on-one technical round . Visited their office to meet Head of technology. Listed down ALL the technologies listed in CV and asked questions on ALL of them. Very practical scenario problems , scaling problems discussed in depth. Spark program executions , stages of program , DAG graphs process and everything in the basics of hadoop systems ,spark , MongoDB , Hive etc . It went good too.
Got no offer with a feedback ,
They were looking for someone who can work as similar as "Head of Technology" and can share his workload. I am not sure if there was an actual opening for "Sr. Data engineer" role or more seniorrole to it. And feedback made no sense to me .
And yes, HR is the worst kind of HR I have ever faced in any organization till date.No interaction at all or receiving an employee visiting your workspace first time.
The only good part of the process is interview discussions as people are technically sound and know things.
