I applied online. I interviewed at TransPerfect in Apr 2021
Interview
Applied through LinkedIn for the internship in translation project management. After three weeks a recruiter from the company reached out via email to schedule the interview. The interview itself was just a 15min skype audio call with one question and discussion about the internship.
BUT, in case you want to apply there are a few things I would like to point out:
- The company takes AGES to reply and often only on Sundays.
- YOU will be the one drafting out the internship agreement. This can take time, especially if you are enrolled in a university where internship agreements aren’t the norm.
- My recruiter completely forgot about our interview and I had to reach out to enquire and schedule a new time. She apologized during the interview, but still doesn’t give a very good impression of the company.
-. During the interview the recruiter will make it seem as if they are already considering you for the internship, and that the only thing missing is the internship agreement with your university, but this absolutely not true. What they don’t tell you is that the number one criteria, that defines if you are selected for the internship or not is a two-hour proofreading test.
- If you failt the test, then you won’t get the internship. They call this ”we want to be able to assess our prospective intern’s attention to detail”, but they never mention it ANYWHERE. I only found out when I needed more information regarding the internship agreement.
- The test consist of two documents, first is a ”find faults”, where you have to compare two English documents and find 50 mistakes. The second part is a translation from Swedish to English, and again, you have to find 25 faults in it.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why do you feel like you would be a good fit for this internship? We offer 400€ compensation, is that enough? Is this a mandatory or voluntary internship for your studies? Can your university supply an internship agreement?
It was very nice, it creates a good environment for you to open up. Not at all pedantic, but invites you to talk about your experience with a smile and very friendly.

Interview
First I had an interview and then a proofreading test. The proofreading test had two parts: a text in English and another in Swedish. Then there is another interview with the management team.
It’s an very easy going interview with few basic questions like motives for application and why I like the company. Very friendly HR person interviewed me and had a nice conversation.
