I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Torch in Sep 2023
Interview
I had a great first conversation with a Director, great chemistry and a lot of alignment on the role and direction of the company. Second interview with the Sr. Director was really helpful and reinforced my interest in the organization and role - and it went 30 minutes long, which I always view as a positive. My third interview was a panel, with a CSM team leader and CS Operations Manager. While this experience did not feel as cohesive, I walked away feeling good about it; however, after a week of waiting, I received feedback that I 'talked at them' for 15 minutes, and there was concern about my ability to thrive in a small startup environment. I was specifically looking to join a small startup, given my previous experience and ability to thrive in that environment - in addition to being most recently employed by a direct competitor of Torch. I felt my vast experience in CS and recent experience in the industry (with the market leader) would present as highly desirable. Unfortunately, I was told that they are moving forward with candidates who they felt 'better matched' what they were looking for, which ultimately had me scratching my head.

Interview
3 interviews. 1 overview of background and resume. 1 testing coaching skills. And one for cultural fit. Interviews were to the point, neither warm nor cold. First interviewer was taking notes during the interview which was a bit strange
