The interview process was long and inefficient. It is totally fine not to select a candidate if the person is not qualified or if the company encounters some issues and has to pause or postpone the process. Yet, it would be better if the company could clarify those things instead of keeping people waiting or ghosting the candidate, especially for final candidates in this economy. I started the interview process in late January. I conducted all the interviews within 2 weeks and was one of the final candidates. During the process, I follow up with them once every 1-2 weeks if nothing is on the agenda, and I always show my gratitude and ask for feedback. While they are responsive to my emails, they never commit to the timeline they provide and always ask for new interviews or more time. My last conversation with the hiring manager was in mid-March, and she said the final decision should be made in a week. It has been 2 weeks since the due date, and they've never reached back. The whole process has been 2.5 months, with 1.5 months not really having any progress. I have 2 other offers on hand and eventually started my job with another company. Overall, the people here are nice, but the process made me feel unprofessional and disrespectful.
