The School for Field Studies interview questions

I applied online, and was contacted by email for an interview three days later. I had a thirty-minute phone interview two days after that. The woman I spoke to said that she'd be in touch in less than two weeks about a second interview, but I never heard from her again. Two months later, I received an automated email that I was not being hired. The woman who interviewed me did not seem to want to be speaking with me. She continuously told me that my background was not relevant to the position; I do not understand why she wasted both of our time speaking with me, or why she felt it was appropriate to never contact me again.
