      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at The Ensign Group in Mar 2021

      Interview

This was a long interview process with no clear number of steps and not much direction from the company on the path forward. I found myself constantly reaching out to find out the next steps and pushing the process along. After multiple interviews reviewing my qualifications, they sent me to California for the final round. There is a case study section and 5-7 individual interviews. Though I thought I did well, I didn't get an offer because I lacked experience within healthcare. While that is true in my personal career, it seems like a reason that could have been explained to me in the first interview and not after 10 or so interviews.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Ensign Group

      Interview

1st Interview:. Over the phone with HR Rep. 2nd Interview: 3 hour interview with regional manager and 10 administrators (3 different groups about 30 minutes long rotations. Basic get to know you interview questions during this round. 3rd Interview: If they like you they will then send you to the service center in Mission Viejo, CA (Last round). 7-8 interviews similar to the regional interview. Tougher questions that focus on your desire, knowledge, and philosophy managing people. You do a case study as well with the other admins that are applying. There were several in my group. The whole Interview process is about 6-7 hours long. It is a job that if you are just interested or not sure they will discern that quick and not make an offer, even if you do well. In my opinion.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at The Ensign Group (Mission Viejo, CA) in Feb 2017

      Interview

Will get a call from a super friendly recruiter asking about your experiences. In my case I was extremely candid about my leadership experience which in a similar industry but not significant. She will then refer you to shadow a couple administrators and if that goes well you will have an all day interview at HQ in orange county. I left HQ feeling extremely confident. One of the executives was very straight forward mentioning we will receive a call within 48 hours with a decision. After 72 hours of absolutely nothing I tried contacting the original recruiter. She e-mailed me back the next day saying I don't have enough leadership experience. Overall the process drags on and on and was a complete waste of time since they knew exactly how much experience I had from day one. They additionally asked illegal questions like my age and relationship status. My advice would be to be up front with them from day one about your leadership experience and make sure they're OK with it. Thinking back seems like the company is mostly concerned with cutting costs to the bone and not so much about providing exceptional quality care.
