The process took 2 days. I interviewed at The Container Store in Oct 2010
Interview
Very positive, albeit scripted, group interview. We were asked to sell a product to the other job candidates and to get an aisle of the store ready for opening. It seemed a little long for an initial retail interview, but it was overall a positive experience and made me want to work there. Seems like a good place for a work life in transition, as so many are right now.

What is the most important core value of the company?
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Container Store in Nov 2009
Interview
The interview consisted of a group of people (around 15) and two Container Store employees. They didn't tell us up-front that it would last a loooooonnnnnnngggg time. It took several hours and it would have been extremely helpful to have known that going in. Then, it took a very long time for someone to contact me after the group interview. When they DID contact me, they wanted me to come and interview that same day--like in a couple of hours! I declined and said I had found something else. These two experiences gave me the impression that Container Store doesn't respect your time.

Question 1
In the group interview, they asked for volunteers to come up front and enact a typical sales scenario. It was okay but kind of like kindergarten.
