      Java Developer Interview

      Jul 11, 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Córdoba
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Taller Technologies (Córdoba) in Jun 2021

      Interview

This company left me with a very bad impression. The first interview was with HR and a Project Manager of a "Partner" company. General question about my experience and technical skills. Part of the interview was in English to evaluate my level. The second interview was technical: this was supposed to have 3 parts: technical questions (part in English to evaluate my English level again), an online exercise, and some time in the end to ask questions. The interviewer canceled the interview in the middle of the first part saying I didn't have enough experience in 2 tools/technologies that were really important for the client. In the Job description neither of them appeared as required (even more, one of them appeared as a 'plus'). This was very frustrating and a big waste of time and effort. I even rejected other interviews and small gigs that week to focus on this opportunity, because the "partner" company that first contacted told me that I was a very good match for the position (an actually it seemed I was, according to the job description). This person that first contacted me was also surprised by the technical interview results. What I can say? A very frustrating process. A total lack of consideration for the candidates. Also, the technical interviewer shown no interest in the interview and shown from the very beginning an attitude of hurry up and as he would have had better things to do. It would be really good if they review the job descriptions and the communication between the different people included in the recruiting process (especially when there are "partners" and no direct clients), or maybe, review if the technical interviewer has the right skills for interviewing. I will think twice before moving forward with an interview process with so many intermediate. The interview process could be challenging enough, and having bad communication between the recruiters/interviewers/client requirements doesn't help at all (big waste of time for all!). Also, please consider having a person that is not only a technical person interviewing but also has a minimal consideration for the people they are interviewing, because they are interviewing people, not machines.

      Question 1

Do you know how to use GIT from the command line? Questions specific from Java 8, when Java 8 was a plus for that position.
