      FP&A Director Interview

      Apr 26, 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Talkiatry (New York, NY) in Apr 2026

      Interview

I came into this process genuinely excited about Talkiatry's mission and the role itself, however walked away super disappointed. The early stages of the process were positive, but the hiring manager interview was a significant letdown. She joined the call visibly unprepared. She didn't have my resume on hand and spent time pulling it up, giving the impression she was seeing it for the first time. Throughout the conversation, she was frequently looking away and seemed disengaged from the start. TBH I knew 5 minutes into this interview that I was not moving forward. The interview felt more like an interrogation than a conversation. Rather than a discussion about mutual fit, the questions felt pointed and oddly specific, often drilling into methodology and approach at my current role in a way that felt less like evaluation and more like... something else. There was no real dialogue about the role itself, the team, and there was no curiosity about what I could bring to the table. As a candidate, I'm assessing the company and its people just as much as they're assessing me. What I walked away with was deep disappointment, especially given how genuinely excited I was about this role and what I could bring. For anyone considering applying, it's also worth knowing this role was posted for a month before I even connected with the recruiter, and it remains open nearly a month after my interview. Whether that reflects internal misalignment, unclear expectations, or something else, it's a yellow flag that's hard to ignore.
