I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TEKsystems (Denver, CO) in Feb 2024
Interview
This experience spanned two weeks: the latter part of the first week and the early part of the next week. Basically, this experience happened pretty quickly within about 6 business days.
1) One of their recruiters called me, and asked me if I was available for part time work, or short term full time assignments. The recruiter gave me a high level description of TEKsystems and the job opportunity; however, unlike other recruiters, I was not given a written description about the job opportunity.
2) I had a 30 minute video interview with the hiring manager. Prior to the interview, I was discouraged from asking about salary and benefits. During the interview, I was not given time to ask questions; I got to ask one clarifying question while questions were being asked of me. I was given a high level description of the job opportunity.
3) The recruiter called me later offering me the job. I expected another interview: in my experience, employers typically interview a job candidate more than once. Towards the end of this conversation, I was able to ask about pay and benefits. I asked to think about the offer, and I was allowed to think about it over night.
4) I called the recruiter and politely declined the offer, and the recruiter tried to "hard sell" me the position: like a car sales man. The recruiter seemed surprised I declined the offer.
The reasons I turned down the role:
A) I felt I was not given much information about the role (For example: I was not given a written job description - other recruiters provide a written job description).
B) I felt I was treated in a presumptuous manner: like I was being given the "hard sell" to take this role.
C) I felt the communication I received was inconstant and confusing. Furthermore, in my last conversation with the recruiter, the recruiter answered my different questions with the same answer.
Parts of my experience sound similar to other reviews I read on Glassdoor and other online-review-platforms.
The recruiter contacted me on two other occasions with other opportunities; however, I did not pursue them because of the experience I am writing about in this review.
It had 3 rounds. One was technical, one from manager and final round was from US . Technical round will be preceded by a written test cheking your grammer . Technical round , they ask everything about Oxygen DITA XML.

Interview
I reached out to a recruiter for a technical writer position and was immediately patched through for a screening interview.
The recruiter was very kind and responsive. When COVID caused the hiring company to freeze the position, the recruiter stayed in touch with me for nearly a year! They wanted me to know I would be 1st in line for the position when it opened up again. They gave me a written assessment, reached out to my references, and got all set up and ready to roll.
However, it's been a year since hiring froze, and the recruiter has stopped reaching out to me, so I think I'm being ghosted.
I don't really mind, since this was honestly the best recruiter experience I've ever had.
