Applied via Linkedin, interview took about an hour with some general conversation followed by a scenario to talk the interviewer through. I found it interesting and it was a good taste of the work that consultants do.

Question 1
Scenario involving an example of a real world client engagement.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Synergy Group Australia
Interview
Interview was professional and personable, with a positive sell to onboard... Follow up was complete opposite. Unprofessional, and disrespectful of applicant time with zero follow up on calls or email.
Outdated measurement methods of personality insights with no debrief, feedback, or opportunity for clarification. A shame, given this method disempowers management to maintain their own judgement skills surrounding face to face situational decision making.
Personality tests, although useful in very few scenarios, should never be used as a weighted decision making tool. Gut feel, experience, and testimony hold more merit in determining quality candidates.
Professional courtesy is key to building strong and trusted connections.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Synergy Group Australia (Canberra) in Jan 2018
Interview
Synergy runs a Veterans Assessment Centre specifically for Australian Defence veterans who have never worked in Consulting before. It is an all day event, and contains various interviews and presentations on the company and how it operates. It utilises a mixture of 1-on1 interviews, panel type interviews, and they also have a group activity where you and other applicants work together to construct a tower from paper and cardboard etc. There is also a Hogans psychological assessment which is one of the pre-screening methods used to narrow down applicants and ensure the people they hire share their values and expectations.
