      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      Jan 8, 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Super.com

      Interview

Entire process seemed straightforward, but ultimately they seem all over the place and ghosted me. Process should've been pretty simple: Recruiter call, hiring manager, tech screen and/or virtual onsite. My situation: Recruiter call, hiring manager (who said they would contact me next day and made a point of saying that they _DEFINITELY_ would contact me). A week goes by and I had to reach out to the recruiter to find out what's going on. A day or so later I get word that I'm a good fit, but might be a better fit for a different team. I then get another interview invite with no details other than a Google meet link. I join the chat and it was the hiring manager for the other team (which surprised me since I thought this was another recruiter followup according to the invite). The hiring manager for the other team seemed genuinely annoyed to be on this call from the beginning, but I gave me spiel. Weeks later crickets. Not recommended -- you will not be respected. Also do yourself a favor and also check out their product (phone apps) if you want to see what you'll be working with.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Super.com (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2023

      Interview

I applied online for a different position, a month later, got contacted for a different position with similar job description. The interview process breaks down into the following 5 rounds: 1. Round 1: Initial Call with recruiter (30 mins): This part of the interview is the standard "Tell me about yourself" style of interview questions going over your current career and looking forward to the future. 2. Round 2: Critical Thinking Test (10 mins) - This is a stupid test provided by a third party company, that gives you IQ styled questions and won't provide you with your final grade (A red flag for me) 3. Round 3: Interview with Hiring Manager (90 mins): This part of the interview consisted of some personal career questions, some technical questions, and a create-react-app style of screen sharing. 4. Round 4: Interview with Director (120 mins): Didn't make it to this stage 5. Round 5: Cultural Fit (30 mins): Didn't make it to this stage.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1
