      DevSecOps Interview

      Nov 22, 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SumerSports in Nov 2024

      Interview

The job description talked about managing containers at scale. Cool, I've been doing that for almost 10 years. But I've also been involved in much broader technical leadership and direction. I know that I have a lot to offer. First interview was with the hiring manager, the Director of Engineering. Next was a system design interview with a member of the team. Third was a cybersecurity interview. I felt like all went well. Then I got a message from the hiring manager saying that they were looking for someone with more experience with the specific piece of software they were using (doing the same things with different software didn't seem to count), and that "this is not a good place for learning." So I was out.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

System design: Design a system (client and server) for metrics collection (similar to New Relic or Datadog), accounting for overall scalability and lots of traffic.
      Answer question

      Question 2

Cybersecurity: A smattering of questions related to IAM, principle of least privilege, defensive security, and offensive security.
